In search for a place, we were paying a visit to the first farm, and thus, organized a picnic with our children.

We arrived at Fazenda Cachoeiras, in Boa Vista, Barra Alegre, and it was love at first sight.

I felt emotional upon our arrival and then again when I later walked its trails, and began to discover that all the qualities I’d dreamt of were present: Important remnants of the Rain Forest environment, lots of water, reasonable accessibility, and distant from the urban influence. We bought the farm in 1990, and began to restore the century-old main house.

When the house was completed, we invited neighbors, workers and friends to hug it and bless it.

We moved to the farm in December of 1992.
